Documents required to open a personal bank account:
- copy of your passport
- document confirming your permanent address (utility bill). This may be either a utility bill or a bank statement, dated within the last three months.
- document confirming the individual tax identification number in the country of tax residence.
- document confirming your profession (a certificate from your employer stating your position).
Note:
Banks accept documents in Portuguese, English and Spanish. If a document is in another language, a notarised translation into English and legalisation are required.
The time taken to open a bank account is 5 working days.
